Beautiful. Where was this taken.

Thanks for the compliment - it was taken in the Chapter House of Wells Cathedral, in Wells, England.

Excellent, i congratulate you for taking this geometric approach to the subject; are you familiar with the Sketchbook of Villard De Honnecourt? I think this image could be somehow related to the three fishes sharing one head figure, just to mention a visual refence from the aproximate same period.

Thanks for your thoughts - I wasn't familiar with Villard De Honnecourt, but I shall certainly look through what I can find online, as the little I just found looks very interesting.

No problem; well, Villard is only known for those 33 sheets of parchment (just like the little town called Honnecourt is only known because of Villard); he apparently lived and worked in France and Hungary (some of the sketches and plans show details of the Cathedrals of Laon and Reims) but the amount of information about his universe contained in those few pages is worth libraries and libraries of later analysis; just pay attention to the little details, the insects and decorative designs along the architectural plans, the labyrinths and perpetual motion machines, and specially (cause somehow related to your work) to the pages were animal and human figures are inscribed in geometrical forms.
In few words is like an early gothic manifesto, lonely genius the modern way or just the only known specimen of an extinct breed of travelling artists, perhaps we'll never know.

Gosh I would love to visit this place - how astonishing and uplifting. I love the way you have framed this...architecture is one of my big loves too.

Thanks as always, I am glad you enjoyed viewing the image. I will be posting the rest of the show image over the next while, and while they aren't actual prints, they will give you an idea of the show.
