Spring has Sprung

Wed Apr 29, 2009, 9:14 PM
So, the first warm weekend of 2009 has come and gone, but fortunately, I realized some of it's potential! While I was indoors on Saturday, teaching a macro workshop, I spent Sunday afternoon/evening and Monday afternoon working with models outdoors for the first time in 2009 - working with five models over three sessions, and then a small set of frozen flowers to finish off the work!

Over the three days, I made a total of 1,523 files amounting to 38.5gb of space (it has to be mentioned that 6 of the flower compositions made up 280 frames!).

Hopefully this marks the beginning of a year of great photography...I hope to have my new lens system completed by mid June, and assuming there are models available (I'm always looking for new people to work with!), I should have 2-4 days a week to photograph through the rest of the spring and summer - a photographer's dream schedule!

  • Mood: Excited
  • Listening to: Crash Vegas
  • Reading: Terry Pratchett (still/again/forever!)
  • Watching: Farscape
  • Playing: D&D 4.0 occasionally

Eric-
Lovely work, as always, i'm particularly drawn to the stitched images. I'm curious about the infrared converted 5D Mark II, Have you tried shooting any Infrared video yet? Did you have Canon remove the hot pass filter?
Keep up the great work...
Michael
Thanks for your compliment, I am glad you enjoyed viewing what I have posted here. I have tried some IR video, and while it is not my thing, it looks cool (for video). The conversion was done by LifePixel in the US, voiding the warranty...I've asked Canon if they could do the conversion, but they declined (in 2005, Nikon Canada did an IR conversion for me, which was why I switched for a time from Canon to Nikon).

Thank you for your feedback, I am glad you enjoyed what you saw posted here. I am just at the beginning of the fun part of the year (i.e. when it is warm enough to work outdoors) so new work will be coming!

Everyone seems so much more laidback, the women are absolutely beautiful and carefree... AND many have either French or English accents!
